AU Underground Celebrates 5 Years with Shows in Melbourne & Sydney

auunderground Events, News

To mark 5 years of AU Underground we have announced some very special shows in Melbourne and Sydney over the next two weeks.

Fri July 28th in Melbourne.

When we started AU Underground 5 years ago it was (and still is to some extent) the first and only podcast series dedicated to just Australian electronic music. We took inspiration from the likes of The BBC’s Essential Mix and the podcasts of Systematic Sessions with Marc Romboy and Transitions with John Digweed which are all done in a radio style “presented” format and applied to our own musical directives. Leaning on producers and DJs from the house and techno realm that have been integral in putting Australia on the global dance music map the podcast has grown and grown and we now also do a few very select event showcases each year in the countries most famed clubbing institutions like Revolver and SASH.

We are first marking the celebrations in Melbourne on July 28th inside the intimate and well loved Boney with a stacked line up across two floors including Jamie Stevens, Steve Ward, JPA, Get Popular (Thankyou City DJ), Liam Kendall, Mount Mike, J-Slyde, Scotty Pesticide & of course AUU’s very own Dylan Griffin.

Across the northern border we have a very special showcase taking over the notorious S.A.S.H. Terrace for the entire night on Sunday August 6th. With one of our favourite up and coming producers in Australia right now, Venda, for 3 hours followed by a 3 hour closing set from Dylan Griffin, this will be quite the journey and if our last showcase at S.A.S.H. was anything to go by it will be one to remember!
